Would you like to watch a pro-natalist video from Singapore…and Mentos or something? The answer is sort of that you wouldn’t because it is the single most embarrassing thing in the world. It’s waaaaay more like the Lonely Island’s (awesome) song “I Just Had Sex” than it is like anything remotely appropriate as a domestic policy, er, proposal. But it is real. (Congratulations on the 50 years, Singapore!) I mean, you can see that it’s intended to be funny, yet… “Aw yeah baby, I want to hang out in your void deck.” THIS WAS...

This article is part of 2005 Week on Noisey, where we revist all the best and worst pop culture relics from a decade ago.
“Can you be funny without dryhumping each other and sucking on dildos?” This is what David Wain remembers a Comedy Central executive asking him when he pitched the network the idea to turn Stella, the three-man comedy troupe he started eight years prior with Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black, into a sitcom. It was a valid question. “And it turned out, the answer was no,” deadpans Black.
Just like Tina Fey and BFF Amy Poehler, or Arya Stark and her hate for the Lannisters, music and the Emmys will always go hand in hand. When Andy Samberg was on SNL, he and the Lonely Island ushered in a new era of digital shorts that became their calling card.
